Ambitious e-commerce business

Senior Conversion & Experimentation Specialist

You find out why visitors don't buy and, with well-designed experiments, improve the economics of the whole store, not just the conversion rate.

  • Digital
  • Senior
  • Northern Netherlands · On-site
  • Full-time
  • €3,000 – €4,500 gross per month

About the role

You'll join an ambitious e-commerce business in the north of the Netherlands: a growth agency with brands as clients, or a brand that sells directly. More traffic isn't always the answer: sometimes the biggest opportunity is already on the website. Not changing button colours, but using data, customer research and commercial judgement to decide what to test, and genuinely improving the journey from homepage to checkout.

What success looks like

  • More high-quality experiments, with better hypotheses
  • Faster learning, and more winning tests implemented for good
  • Measurable incremental contribution per session, not just more conversion
  • A growing knowledge base, so nobody tests the same ideas over and over
  • Fewer decisions based on opinion alone

What you'll do

  • Analyse customer behaviour and find bottlenecks in the journey, from homepage and product page to cart and checkout
  • Write hypotheses and prioritise experiments on expected impact and evidence
  • Design, run and correctly analyse A/B tests with developers and designers, and build simpler tests yourself
  • Use reviews, surveys, support data and return reasons to understand friction
  • Analyse differences between countries, devices, channels and customer types, together with the acquisition specialists
  • Assess the impact of pricing, offers and merchandising
  • Present insights and recommendations yourself, and turn winners into permanent improvements

What you bring

  • Substantial hands-on experience in CRO, experimentation, product growth or e-commerce optimisation
  • Highly analytical and independent in analytics tools
  • You know the methodology: significance, sample size, test duration, segmentation, false positives and when not to test
  • You look beyond conversion: revenue and contribution per session, order value, margin, returns and repeat behaviour
  • You understand UX without treating aesthetics as evidence, and you're curious about customer psychology
  • You execute, rather than deliver an audit with 75 recommendations
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL or experimentation platforms is a big plus

What you get in return

  • Build a genuine experimentation practice
  • Work on the stores of ambitious e-commerce brands
  • Collaborate with developers, designers and acquisition specialists
  • Room to challenge assumptions
  • A workplace in the north of the Netherlands
  • A salary that fits your experience
  • Support from Cruitor, also after you start

How we assess

We discuss an experiment you worked on yourself: what you observed, your hypothesis, what you changed, how you designed the test, what happened and how confident you were. Failed experiments are welcome.
